So tired of seeing people bash on Absolute Midnight. Don’t you know that Clive Barker is a God among men and knows damn well what he is doing? CLEARLY this story is bigger than we know, because we are only 3/5ths through it. AND this novel is merely a transition onto bigger better things.
As for Gazza, there is something bigger at work. Like the fact that they feel they know each other, finish each others thoughts, THE FAMILIAR GOLDEN EYES??
Also people complaining how long it took and assuming it will take as long for the fourth:
1.) Clive is a busy man, with many other fanbases to please. AND if you’d ever read an interview, you’d know he’s had a very rough few years.
2.) He wrote and then completely rewrote the 3rd book because he was not pleased with it. AGAIN, GOD AMONG MEN, KNOWS WHATS GOING ON IN HIS IMAGINATION.
3.) He’s been working on the 4th book, as he was working on the third. Either way isn’t it worth the wait?

Omg I am actually the worst at articulating my ASOIAF feelingz & opinionz so I’m very sorry for how shit this will be. Also I guess kind of uh vaguely spoilery? But not too bad. More vague than spoilery tbh.
Sansa is magnificent and wonderful and perfect and haters are so gross. I really love the whole idea of the perfect little lady exposed to horror and cruelty who clings to that propriety as armor and both as something that no longer makes sense and as the only thing left that does make sense (does this sentence even make sense wow). Sansa is just so gr8 ah!!! Pretty much all her ships are fairly creepy but like I can see the reasoning behind most of them. Personally as far as ASOIAF goes I just multiship the living daylights out of everything and I feel that I should mention that I ship the three eldest Stark children + bonus Jon Snow in a big pile of interchangeable pairings/threesomes/foursome (when they’re alive I mean, sry Robb u can txt it from the grave~~) (also in a world where they’re all legal consenting adults and whatnot). Oh and also with all their direwolves so up to an eightsome in imaginary everyone-is-alive fantasyland I suppose.
SANSA AND ARYA ARE SUCH A GOOD SISTERS NARRATIVE AUGH like I just love sisters? Which is weird because I don’t really like my own sister much but yeah I like how they are foils and whatnot and how they’re all grr grr fight fight toward each other but they still have ~~that bond~~ or whatever and both heading toward the end goal of bitter revenge, just in different ways. OH AND ALSO speaking of parallels that thing floating around a while ago pointing out the Sansa/Theon paraellels AUGH MY HEART. That fucking destroyed me. Um I am really bad at talking about the whole Stark sisters deal and so many people have done it so much better than I have but I LOVE THEM SO MUCH MY BBS IN HIDING DOING WHAT THEY NEED TO DO TO SURVIVE and just everything, all the feelings, all of them.
So I mean obviously I love them both to pieces but aaaactually Arya is my favorite. People have done some really good analysis about all the ‘look at the horrible things that happen to a child when you expose them to horrible things’ (although I’m not really a fan of calling her a sociopath because I’m not so big on how much that word gets thrown around like it’s popcorn) and yes but also at the same time I am just too busy stanning the fuck out of her, my murderous dearheart. It’s super icky when people are like ‘yes Arya perfect ~~~~tomboy~*~ hero; boo stupid Sansa!!!’ because why would you have to throw one sister under in order to love the other??? it makes no sense (although obviously I am not surprised when I see it because people have a lot of really terrible opinionz) and I hate it but yeah the point is that I love Arya. My fantastic Arya Underfoot, my perfect tiny bloody champion, who, like her sister, has left behind most everything she once knew. I love her sfm. Brilliant loyal homeless boundless fighter running away from everything while running toward it at the same time, impossible stubborn heroine, etc.
Chapter 23, page 182: “Love was sickness. Love was self-slaughter. Love was poison and pain and humiliation. He was reborn to be love’s enemy. To destroy it, utterly.”
Chapter 34, page 253 (the very next time we see him): “‘Yes, I love her,’ he said. ‘Of course I love her.’”

Christopher Carrion. For the love of God, pull yourself together. I know you just woke up from a little corpse nap and might be the slightest bit groggy and disoriented, but this is simply inexcusable.
